HORNET HAPPENINGS
The school year has officially come to an end. The seniors have walked across the stage at graduation, underclassmen have put away the books and teachers have packed up the classroom in preparation for an eventful, safe summer.
As a graduating senior, I can honestly say I never thought that day would come. All the monotony of getting up in the morning each day for school is over. Each test, essay, memory and experience of high school has culminated into one life-changing day.
I can speak for the entire class of 2013 when I say none of our successes would be possible without the teachers, staff and administration of Emmaus High School, along with the constant support of our parents.
I can honestly say I am proud to be a graduate of Emmaus High School and I could not have chosen a better class or a better school to spend the last four years with. We are all so lucky to attend/have attended such a wonderful establishment.
Although our Emmaus career is over, underclassmen still have next school year to look forward to.
The summer reading lists for grades nine through 12 are available on the EHS website. Each list contains options for each student in the AP and honors courses. Students and parents are strongly encouraged to review the lists in order to make choices both challenging and appealing to the student. Barnes and Noble is recommended as a resource for these selections.
Next school year, the East Penn School District will be putting a "Will Call" bus seating system in service in order to make transportation more efficient. For more information, visit www.eastpennsd.org.
Registration for the Summer Learning Academy at EHS is now open. The program began June 24 and ends July 26. To download a registration form and view a brochure, visit the EHS website.
EPSD will hold its annual summer fitness camp for students grades one through six. The camp is held Tuesday through July 9 through Aug. 8 at Willow Lane Elementary School. For more information, visit www. eastpennsd.org to download a flyer.
