Preliminary hearing
A Lower Macungie Township man waived his preliminary hearing in a Nazareth district court on charges he allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile.
Shawn William Salevsky, 39, of the 1500 block of Kennington Lane, was released on bail, according to the office of District Judge John Capobianco, 03-2-08, 1529 S. Main St., Nazareth. Legal proceedings now move to Northampton County Court. Salevsky waived his preliminary hearing June 19.
According to court documents obtained in May, charges against Salevsky stem from incidents occurring between January 2011 and March of this year at Nazareth Middle School, Upper Nazareth Township, where Salevsky worked. Among charges brought against Salevsky at the time were alleged involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, sexual assault, corruption of minors and recklessly endangering another person. Salevsky was arrested in March by Upper Nazareth Township police.
