EMMAUS POLICE

Drug investigation

An Emmaus couple was charged with numerous drug offenses resulting from a four-week investigation by the Lehigh County District Attorney's Drug Task Force and the Emmaus Police Department.

Tasha Amanda Salsbury, 36, and her husband, Kevin Christopher Salsbury, 34, both of 625 Walnut St., Apt. 1, in the borough, are charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and cocaine, possession of controlled substances and conspiracy to deliver controlled substances.

The couple was arraigned June 20 and committed to Lehigh County Prison.

According to an affidavit of probable cause for arrest filed by an Emmaus police officer who is a member of the drug task force:

On June 20, a search warrant was executed at the couple's apartment. Police allegedly found more than one ounce of loose heroin, an ounce of cocaine, the drug Ecstasy, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials, including baggies, scales, syringes and measuring spoons.

Joseph P. Stauffer, chief detective of the drug task force, said police also allegedly seized $1,700.

The execution of the search warrant was the result of an investigation involving intellegence gathering and undercover drug purchases.

As in every criminal case, the fact an arrest has occurred or a complaint has been filed is an accusation; and the defendants, Tasha Amanda Salsbury and Kevin Christopher Salsbury, are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
