The Whitehall-Coplay School Board recognized three students who won first-place medals in the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute's SkillsUSA state competition.
Kim Phung was awarded a medal for industrial motor control, Genelle Davenport won for medical math and Madison Jacob won for photography.
"They're fabulous kids, we're very proud of them," said Superintendent John Corby. "To take first in state is an incredible accomplishment."

In other business at the May meeting, the board took nominations for the office of treasurer.
Board member Josef Fragnito nominated Arthur Taschler Jr. Board member Joyce Wheeler made a motion to accept the nomination and board member Wayne Grim seconded it.
All school board members present voted in favor. Vice President Tina Koren was absent.
The board elected Taschler as the treasurer for a one-year term effective July 1 to June 30, 2014.
In finance committee matters, the board adopted the proposed final general fund budget for the 2013-14 school year.
Seven members voted in favor, while Owen Eberhart Jr. opposed.
The proposed budget amounts to $56,789,677, an increase of 3.78 percent from the previous year.
The budget is currently $127,706 over the Act 1 maximum tax limit.
"This will not be the final number," said Taschler. "We won't have it completed until June."
