The Macungie Farmers Market will hold their seventh season grand opening 4 to 7 p.m. June 6. The market features local family farmers providing home grown food: fruits, vegetables, meat products, eggs, baked goods, plants and more. The Farmers Market will be open 4 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through October with the exception of Aug. 22. Parking is available at the park parking lot and along North Walnut Street.

Almost 18 years ago, I started writing local happenings columns for the East Penn Press. At the time, our first daughter Lydia was 6 months old and I often included a short anecdote of her escapades. Recently, a longtime reader called and asked me about my children, reminding me of how much they have grown and changed. In less than a week, Lydia will be graduating from high school and in the fall heading off to college to study anthropology. We are very proud of her and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life. Congratulations, Lydia!
