LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

HORNET HAPPENINGS

The final days of the school year at Emmaus High School are rapidly winding down, to the excitement of students (especially seniors) and teachers alike.

There are only a few landmark events left scheduled in the school year before the doors of EHS will close for the summer.

On June 6, Day 3, exams for periods 3, 2, and 1 will be administered. Period 3 exams will take place 7:25 to 8:55 a.m., period 2, 9:10 to 10:40 a.m. and period 1, 11:30 to 1 p.m.

As a reminder, students are not required to be in school if they do not have a scheduled exam. Bus transportation will be provided for students to the exam sessions at normal time. However, transportation home will only be provided at normal time June 6. If that is inconvenient for the student, they may find their own transportation home or attend the cafeteria study hall until the bus arrives.

Between 10:40 to 11:30 a.m. June 6, cafeteria lunches will be available to students. Additionally, if a student has free time in between exams and cannot arrange transportation home, they are permitted to remain in the cafeteria to use as a study hall.

Day LCTI students will report to LCTI, and all other LCTI students will remain at EHS to take their exams.

If a student is unable to attend an exam due to an illness, a doctor's note must be submitted to Mr. Gale's office upon return to school. A doctor's note is necessary for the student to gain approval to make-up the final exam.

Students are encouraged to get plenty of rest the night before the exam, and come fully prepared with calculators, pencils, erasers and any other materials necessary to be successful on exams.

Seniors will have graduation practice 8 to 10 a.m. June 7 at Stabler Arena. All seniors are required to attend.

On June 8, the Baccalaureate service will take place in the EHS auditorium. The service will be held 9 to 10 a.m. Students must report to the auditorium by 8:30 a.m. Boys are required to wear a shirt and tie. Casual attire will not be permitted at the ceremony, and gowns are required as well (without the cap). A ticket for the ceremony is required.

On Sunday June 9, the graduation ceremony will take place 1 to 3 p.m. at Stabler Arena, Lehigh University. Caps and gowns are required for all students and no casual attire will be permitted at the commencement ceremony.

On Monday, June 10, diplomas will be distributed to graduating seniors. Diplomas will not be distributed at graduation. Students must arrive to the school auditorium between 8 and 10:30 a.m. to pick up their diplomas. Before this time, any unsettled affairs must be resolved, whether it be disciplinary, financial or unreturned materials. Payments for debts or missing items can be resolved in the main office by cash, money order or check.
