The Central Catholic High School Class of 2013 will be holding its baccalaureate Mass 7 p.m. June 6 at St. Joseph the Worker Church.

Graduation will commence on the following day, 7 p.m. June 7, in Rockne Hall.

CCHS will be administering Intermediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing for all incoming freshmen today, May 23. All other current students wishing to play a fall sport will be administered the test May 29 and 30 in Rockne Hall.

Developed by local pediatricians, the ImPACT Test allows athletes to safely return to play after suffering a concussion. Each test is valid for two years. For more information, contact the school athletic trainer, Marie Meyers, at msmatc10@hotmail.com.

Preparticipation sports physicals for the 2013-14 school year will take place June 15 in Rockne Hall. Each physical includes a general medical exam and an orthopedic evaluation. All athletes must have a physical in order to participate in their sport. Registration forms are available on the school website.

Central Catholic Vice President William Tielman has announced his retirement, effective June 30. Tielman has served CCHS as both a teacher and administrator for over 40 years and his presence will certainly be missed.

The 2013 student council inductions took place May 21 in Rockne Hall. All current and new members of the CCHS student council were recognized. The ceremony was led by school President Adam White and guest speaker Ed Pawlowski, mayor of Allentown.

Student Council Chairman Randy Haring, was also recognized for his continued support of the CCHS Student Government.

Editor's Note: This is Michael Rodger's last article, as graduation is rapidly approaching. Michael has written for The Press for the past three years, keeping our readers abreast of activities and accomplishments at Central Catholic High School. He will attend Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., to study business and will also be a member of the wrestling team. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
