Roughies Report

Lehigh Career and Technical School will be hosting a free event for ninth-grade girls interested in pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) careers, in particular, engineering, on Wednesday, May 29, at the school's Schnecksville location. Morning and afternoon sessions are available, each lasting two and a half hours. Space is limited to only 10 girls from sending schools for each session. Stop by the guidance office for information.

Any junior who is interested in attending the Keystone Girls or Keystone Boys leadership training sessions offered during the summer at Shippensburg University should see Mr. Snyder in the guidance office. These training sessions are free and run from June 23 to June 29.

Congratulations to CHS student Taylor Phillips for receiving a Freddy Awards nomination in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Featured Dancer. Taylor performed in the CHS production of "The King & I" earlier this year, in the role of Eliza. Winners will be announced May 23 during a TV broadcast from the State Theatre in Easton.

Congratulations to CHS seniors Melissa Fuhrman and Zac Edwards who were chosen as Colonial League Academic All-Stars for the 2012-13 school year. The students and their parents were honored at a breakfast at the Green Pond Country Club.
