DUI
Norman Oliver Samuels, 44, of Alburtis, was charged with alleged DUI after a traffic stop on Trexlertown Road at Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:10 a.m. April 18.
John Joseph David, 44, of Bethlehem, was arrested for alleged DUI after a traffic stop for multiple traffic violations on Interstate 78 East at mile marker 62-62.9, Upper Saucon Township, 1:18 a.m. April 19. Charges to be filed in District Court.
Sean M. Christopoulos of Emmaus, was taken into custody for alleged DUI after a traffic stop at Lower Macungie Road in the area of Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:48 a.m. April 13. Christopoulos allegedly was observed to cross the marked double yellow divider in the center of the roadway four times. Charges pending.
Esdras Aponte, 29, of Allentown, was stopped for multiple traffic violations on Interstate 78 at Exit 60B, Upper Saucon Township, 2:13 a.m. March 30. Aponte allegedly was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center for arraignment. Charges pending.
Hai N. Nguyen of Emmaus, was stopped southbound on State Route 29 at Lincoln Avenue, Salisbury Township, 1:42 a.m. April 25 after his vehicle was observed allegedly crossing the double yellow solid lines in the center of the roadway twice and the solid white line on the right side of the roadway twice. Nguyen allegedly displayed signs of intoxication. Nguyen was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center. Charges pending.
Retail theft
Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville are investigating the theft of 18 iPhones, several iPads, and several tablets from the Apple display booth located in the Walmart store, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, March 17, March 30 and April 11. During these dates the same two males entered Walmart and went to the Apple display booth at the rear of the store. Once at the booth one male would act as a lookout and the other would remove a glass pane, remove the electronic devices and place them into a plastic bag. The men then would exit the store together without paying for any of the stolen items. Both suspects' identities are unknown at this time. Reported by Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Rd., Lower Macungie Township, 6:40 p.m. April 10, two unknown actors entered the Walmart store and picked up two reusable Walmart bags from a shelf. The actors then took several items off of a shelf and placed the items into the bags. The actors then walked out of the store with the two filled bags without paying for any of the merchandise and fled the scene in an unknown direction. This investigation continues.
A 16-year-old male of Emmaus allegedly took $142.42 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:15 p.m. April 22. Pending disposition of court.
A 17-year-old female of Topton was stopped by Loss Prevention at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:07 p.m. April 19, after allegedly attempting to leave the store without paying for $78 worth of various merchandise. A non-traffic citation was filed in District Court.
Reported by Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Rd., Lower Macungie Township, 4:45 p.m. April 21, an unknown actor stole merchandise from the store valued at $71.56. The investigation continues.
Elmer Gabriel Rosado-Gonzalez, 29, of Allentown, and a 16-year-old male of Allentown, were charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:10 p.m. April 10. Rosado-Gonzalez and the boy were observed by Loss Prevention personnel allegedly taking various items valued at $626.55 and concealing the items in a black trash can. The individuals were then observed allegedly leaving the store without paying for the items. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02.
A 20 year-old female and a 16-year-old female, both of Breinigsville, were taken into custody and charged with retail theft and possession of controlled substances at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Rd., Lower Macungie Township, 6:15 p.m. April 16. Both actors allegedly attempted to steal $57.44 worth of merchandise before being stopped by Loss Prevention. As one of the actors was being searched police found small amounts of marijuana and paraphernalia in that actor's purse. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02.
Hector Vincente Rosa, 42, and Stephen Rodriguez, 34, both of Allentown, were charged with retail theft, recklessly endangering another person, and fleeing and eluding after allegedly conspiring to commit retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Millcreek Road, Lower Macungie Township. Rosa allegedly entered the store and removed 18 cans of infant powder formula, a Walmart basket and a reusable shopping bag while Rodriguez waited in the parking lot. Rosa allegedly fled the store. Rodriguez allegedly allowed Rosa to drive away from Walmart in his vehicle. Police attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle on northbound Route 222. Rosa allegedly drove into Allentown where he was apprehended in the area of Seventh and Union streets. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02. Theft from vehicle
An unknown actor smashed the driver's side window of a commercial truck parked in the 1800 block of Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 5 p.m. March 29 and 1:30 p.m. April 29, and took a citizens band radio. The investigation continues.
An unknown actor removed a navigation system, a DVD player with a viewing screen and $40, from a car parked in the 4500 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 8:30 a.m. April 24 and 9 a.m. April 26. Burglary
Unknown actors entered a residence in the 6000 block of Sweetwood Road, Lower Macungie Township, between April 27 and May 1 and removed copper piping from the basement of the residence.
