Burglary

The Salisbury Township Police Department is investigating a recent rash of daytime burglaries on both the east and west sides of the township. Recent burglaries and burglary attempts have been occurring between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Unknown actor or actors have been kicking in either the front or back doors of homes. Police are asking for the public's help in finding the actors responsible. Report any suspicious vehicles, persons or unknown actors knocking on doors, ringing doorbells or hanging around in any area of Salisbury Township. They are diligently moving forward with these cases to recover property and bring charges against the actors responsible. The Salisbury Police Department is requesting anyone with information or intelligence to call 911, Lehigh County Radio at 610-437-5252. A resident in the 1600 block of Lehigh Street reported the theft of a generator 1:25 a.m. April 12. A witness tells police they saw a dark green van at the house.

A burglar alarm sent police to the 2000 block of Lehigh Parkway North 12:54 p.m. April 22. The front door was open, no one was inside after a search and nothing appeared to be missing.

Theft from vehicle

Eight car batteries were taken from a business in the 200 block of E. Emmaus Avenue 9 a.m. April 5. The batteries are valued at $125 a piece.

An Apple iPad was reported removed from the back seat of a vehicle 11:36 a.m. April 5 in the 1000 block of S. Cedar Crest Boulevard. The value of the iPad is $400.

Theft

Decorative pottery was removed from the front of a home in the 1900 block of South Pike Avenue 1 p.m. April 6. The value is $20.

A resident in the 1600 block of Seidersville Road reported the theft of a front end clip and rear end of a Chevy Nova 6:06 a.m. April 8. The value of the loss is $3,000.

A resident at ManorCare Health Services, 1265 S. Cedar Crest Boulevard, reported the theft of various diamond jewelry noon April 10. Police and personnel at ManorCare are investigating.

A resident in the 1100 block of E. Susquehanna Street reports a strongbox was removed from the residence 2:15 p.m. April 12.

A 13-year-old male student at Salisbury Middle School was charged with taking a laptop charger from the laptop cart 2:43 p.m. April 12. He admitted taking the charger because he lost his. He will be referred to the Juvenile Justice Panel.

A pair of Jordan sneakers valued at $300 were removed from a locker room at Salisbury High School 2:45 p.m. April 18.

A resident in the 1500 block of Church Road reported 11:30 a.m. April 24 the theft of a bird feeder and bird seed.

A resident in the 700 block of E. Lexington Street reported 7 p.m. April 24 the theft of a motorized wheelchair, shovel, lawn mower and Weedwacker. An old Chevy truck was seen in the area.

Four iPads and a laptop were removed from a building in the 1200 block of Cedar Crest Boulevard March 19 and 20.

Assault

Katherine Clauser, 32, of Bethlehem, was charged with simple assault and domestic violence 5:32 p.m. April 7 for an incident in the 1400 block of Seidersville Road. Clauser allegedly pushed and struck the victim in the face, leaving marks. She was taken to Central Booking for processing.

A 17-year-old male student was dared to allegedly take a flat head screwdriver, heat it up on a burner and burn a student April 19. He will be charged with simple assault and harrassment.

Attempted burglary

A resident in the 1700 block of Maumee Avenue came home 4:15 p.m. April 10 to find the side door of the home open, however, the chain lock was still intact. There was no entry to the home and nothing was removed.

Vehicle theft

A 2005 Dodge Magnum was stolen from the 1300 block of Van Vetchen Avenue 9:05 am. April 14. The owner left the keys in the car 10 p.m. April 13. The auto theft task force is investigating.

Reckless endangerment

Orlando Diaz, 38, of Allentown, was charged with reckless endangerment 6:58 p.m. April 16, after allegedly leaving a 2-year-old boy in the car unattended while at the Scott dealership, 3333 Lehigh St. The car was allegedly left running and lurched into gear and moved forward. Diaz was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Scam

A resident in the 800 block of Weil Street was contacted by someone in New York noon April 22 interested in a car posted on Craig's List. The New York actor sent a check for more than the asking price which was fraudulent. Salisbury police want to remind residents to be aware of scams similar to this.

DUI

Sandra Clever, 64, of Emmaus, was stopped 8:53 p.m. April 25 at 33rd and Lehigh Street for allegedly making a left turn at a red light. Clever was apparently slurring words and was unable to perform field tests. She was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Weapon offense

The high school administration was made aware April 25 a student was in possession of a knife on school property. Immediately upon learning this information, the administrator escorted the student to the office where the knife was seized. At no time did the student wield the knife or threaten any student or adult with it. The student was disciplined in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and was referred to the Salisbury Township Police Department.
