Dedication of the George Taylor House Monument, presented by Lehigh County in celebration of its 200th anniversary, is 1 - 4 p.m. May 5, opening day, George Taylor House 35 S. Front St., Catasauqua.
Events include:
Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 Honor Guard salute;
Sheckler Elementary School Band performance, 2 p.m.;
George Taylor House guided tours 2 - 4 p.m.;
May Day Maypole dances and crafts for children, 3 p.m.;
Springtime arts and crafts
Hickory Grove plant sale
Food and beverage vendors
It is recommended that attendees bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Also, Biery House will be open 1 - 4 p.m. May 5.
The George Taylor House is a National Historic Landmark. It was built in 1768 by George Taylor, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
