LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Ron Beitler in the upcoming primary election for Lower Macungie Township Commissioner. Ron is a small business owner and local product having graduated from Emmaus High School in 1998.

For the past three years, Ron Beitler has been a passionate advocate for our community. Beitler was at the forefront of the fight against the Jaindl warehouse project. His advocacy helped secure a reduction of the intensity of the project. Everyone including the incumbents agree plan B is far better than plan A. This was a victory for the community. Among the improvements, Jaindl is now legally bound to a cap of 400 homes instead of up to 900. This is a testament to residents speaking out and fighting for our community. Ron Beitler and others helped lead that charge.

As a small business owner, Beitler understands the value of return on investment. We must stop rubber stamping development that hurts our bottom line with expensive legacy costs. We must instead grow in a fiscally sustainable fashion.

Ron Beitler is the right choice for Lower Macungie Township Commissioner. The primary is May 21. We need leaders who put residents before special interests.
