Since a one-goal loss to Manheim Township back on March 28, the Emmaus boys lacrosse team had reeled off 11 straight victories, including seven in conference play, heading into last Thursday's contest against Parkland.

The way they captured win No. 12 in a row might have been their most impressive of the season.

After the Hornets raced out to a three-goal lead in the first period, the Trojans rallied to scored five consecutive goals and led by two with just under eight minutes to play.

Emmaus, however, never lost hope. Marc Feldman scored two goals in the final five minutes, including the tying score with 22 seconds in regulation to make it a 5-5 game and send it into overtime. With 20 seconds remaining in the extra session, Peter Conway fired a shot that found the back of the net, giving the Hornets the 6-5 comeback victory on Thursday at Parkland High School.

"I really just wanted to push the ball," said Feldman. "We had a few seconds left to go in the game, and I knew we needed one. So I just drove to the goal."

"It was just a really well played game from both teams," said Emmaus head coach Scott Ketcham. With a little bit of the exception of our offense, which didn't really have any flow tonight, but we figured it out a little bit at the end. And Marc Feldman came through big time to tie the game."

Conway's goal came just as a Hornet one-man advantage ended. He was certainly aware of the time remaining on the penalty and game clock, and decided to take a shot in the final seconds.

"Usually a man-up is when I do best," said Conway. "So I was looking to get my hands free, didn't play out too far, and took advantage."

Two Trojan goals in the fourth period put the Hornets in a tough position with momentum seemingly on Parkland's side. But there was still plenty of time remaining.

Feldman put in his second goal of the game with 4:41 to play after firing a deep shot. A little more than four minutes later, Feldman drove to his right and placed a perfect shot in the goal's top left corner to give him a hat trick and tie the game.

"We're trying not to focus on teams," said Feldman. "We're trying to focus on us and taking it one game 15... because think we called this game 15...because we don't refer to teams by name anymore."

Feldman, Nick Tonno and Drew Phillipes recorded goals in the first period for the Hornets.

A loss to Lower Merion broke the Hornet winning streak. Results from Monday's game against Upper Dublin and Tuesday against Central Catholic were not available at time of press.
