LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

HORNET HAPPENINGS

May is finally upon us. The month of warmer weather, relaxed academic pressure (in the minds of students), proms and last but not least AP testing.

A new addition to the month of May would be the first ever annual Emmaus High School College Fair, sponsored by the counseling office.

The fair will be held at EHS 6 to 8 p.m. May 1. Students in all grade levels, as well as their parents, are encouraged to attend. The college search is important and can be an overwhelming process, so it is important to attend.

Approximately 115 colleges, trade school and military representatives will be present at the fair. To see a list of institutions attending, refer to the list on the EPSD website at www.eastpennsd. org. Students from surrounding areas are encouraged to attend as well.

All students scheduled to take AP examinations must have attended the pre-administration sessions April 17 or 18. If a student was unable to attend either one of the sessions, they must personally meet with Mrs. Demchack or Mr. Wood before May 1.

The AP exams will be administered May 6 through 16. Students are required to arrive promptly to their designated testing areas and look for their room assignments prior to the exam.

The Spring National Letter of Intent signing will take place in the EHS auditorium 1 p.m. May 2.

On Saturday, May 4, SAT and subject testing will take place at Emmaus High School 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Students are reminded to come prepared with ample number two pencils, erasers, a calculator, water and a snack. Students are also encouraged to prepare for the exam, and get a good night's sleep, as the test is lengthy.

The junior prom will also take place 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Rodeway Inn and Conference Center.

On Wednesday May 8, the Student Government Association will be hosting another Miller Keystone Blood Drive. The drive will occur in the large courtyard at EHS 8 a.m. through 1 p.m.

On Thursday May 9, the Emmaus High School Choral Department will be hosting the spring choral concert 7:30 p.m. in the EHS auditorium. Featured ensembles include concert choir, women's choir, chorale, Acca Bella and Fermata Nowhere.

Students will enjoy an Act 80 day Friday, May 10, with an 11 a.m. dismissal. Also on May 10, Senior Ball will take place at the Palace Center in Allentown. Doors open 5 p.m. and dinner will be served 6 p.m.
