Daniel J. Mohr, a lifelong resident of Upper Milford Township has announced he will be running for re-election for Upper Milford Township supervisor in the primary election. Mohr is one of two republican candidates seeking the position.
Mohr has had a long history of serving the township. He was a member of the UMT Planning Commission for 18 years prior to serving as a supervisor for the past 12 years. As supervisor, he was instrumental in pursuing appropriations and funding to ease the financial burden of the Vera Cruz sewer project, which is nearing completion. He has been an active member of the Vera Cruz Community Association since 1989. He has served as president, treasurer, and chaired various committees including the Vera Cruz Homecoming, and the Halloween Parade. He is also delegate board member of the East Penn Business Council.
His goals, if re-elected supervisor will be to support maintaining the townships rural character, by supporting farmland and open space preservation and minimizing urban sprawl while maintaining responsible new growth and development. Improving traffic flow, through the township and neighboring townships, impacting our roads and neighborhoods, by working with the state and neighboring municipalities. He will continue to provide adequate services to residents, through fiscal responsibility and without creating a tax burden. He will continue to encourage open communication, transparency, and cooperation between township organizations and its residents.
Mohr is a graduate of Emmaus High School and acquired land surveying, drafting and subdivision experience at Lehigh Carbon Community College and two area engineering firms. He served as an Electricians Mate in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1971 to 1976. He is owner/president of Mohr's Plumbing & Heating, Inc., since 1990.
He has been married for 34 years, has two daughters, one married with two children, and another who just graduated from Kutztown University, who resides at home.
