Eduardo Azzati, artist-lecturer in voice and conducting in the Moravian College Music Department, has been chosen director of the new Allentown Symphony Chorus. Azzati, a member of the music faculty at Moravian since 2005, is director of the college's Women's Chorus.
Azzati is working with Allentown Symphony Orchestra Music Director Diane Wittry and Donna Fritchey, ASO Operations Manager, on a four-year plan that includes Mozart's "Requiem," Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Orff's "Carmina Burana" and Vaughan-Williams' "Sea Symphony."
Auditions take place this summer and fall. Opportunities for paid section leaders, assistant section leaders and choral scholars for advanced area college music majors are available.
