ANCIENT OAK COLUMN

Celebrate in your neighboring town May 10, 11 and 12 for the Alburtis' Centennial celebration. Join them 6:30 p.m. Friday for opening ceremonies, cutting of the birthday cake and walking tours. The parade steps off 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by community group food sales, Swabia Creek Frog Float, a fashion show, the Macungie Band and much more. Sunday features a morning religious service, Lock Ridge Festival and burying of the time capsule.

The Ancient Oak Women's Organization will hold its annual banquet May 1 at Randall's in the Orchard. The ladies will be selling hoagies in May. Call one of the members to place your order. They would like to thank all those who supported past sales. The proceeds go toward the scholarship awarded to high school seniors living in Ancient Oaks.

The organization will resume monthly meetings in the fall.

The Ancient Oak garage sale will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27. There is no rain date.

Lower Macungie Senior Citizens Club meets noon May 7 and 21 at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center. Games are played after the business meeting. There is entertainment in addition to the games May 21.

Children ages two to six are invited to Bedtime Booktime 7:30 p.m. May 6 at the library. Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal.

There is no Friday night bingo in Alburtis. Games will resume in October.
