Lauren Schuster, an eighth-grader at Sacred Heart School in Bath, won the school spelling bee. She went on to place 11th in the Express-Times 27th Annual Regional Spelling Bee, which is the final round before the Scripps National Spelling Bee. A total of 48 students participated in this regional final round, having made it through a field of 20,000 spellers. This was Lauren's third time representing Sacred Heart in the spelling bee.
