The change in seasons also brings a change in activities around town.

The Camp Fire Girls hoagie sales have ended. They will resume in autumn.

Bingo games at the Alburtis Community Center end this month. Look for them in October.

The Alburtis Area Community Center board members meet 7:30 p.m. April 16 at the center, Walnut and Second streets. Alburtis residents are urged to attend the meeting. Volunteers will be needed to help with spring and summer activities.

The Alburtis Senior Citizens meet noon Wednesday, April 17 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Penn Avenue and Quarry Road.

The Lock Ridge Historical Society meets 7 p.m. April 11 at the headquarters lower level, Franklin and Church streets. Nomination and election of officers will be held at the meeting.

Railroad and history buffs are invited to attend a presentation and photo display of the Catasauqua and Fogelsville railroad line at the Macungie Institute, 510 Main Street, Macungie, 7 p.m. April 18. Lectures about the history of the line and its place in the development of the area will be given by Craig Bartholomew, of the Lower Macungie Historical Society, Merrill Brenner, National Wildlife Conservancy and Alburtis Lock Ridge Historical Society, and Kevin Shoemaker, president of Alburtis Lock Ridge Historical Society.

Mark your calendar for the May 10, 11 and 12 Centennial Festival. There will be a parade Saturday morning, walking tours during the day, open house at the Camp Fire cabin, Caroline's Fashion Show at the Cast House in the park, 8 a.m. Sunday religious service Sunday, Swabia Creek frog float, May Day Festival in Lock Ridge Park and the burying of a time capsule at the end of the festivities. Look for the flyers showing times and places of activities.
