The Military Nursing Corps of Pennsylvania, VFW Post 12099, is currently welcoming veterans with service in overseas conflicts.
Current members of Post 12099 have served in every conflict from World War II to active status in the Global War on Terror.
Post 12099 is headquartered in the General Charles C. Curtis National Guard Armory, 1501 Allen St., Allentown, and meets 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Those interested in membership are encouraged to attend a meeting or contact Commander Joe Zeller at 610-298-3254.
The Veteran's discharge paper (DD214) or, if active duty, a letter from a commanding officer, is required to determine eligibility.
The National VFW is 1.9 million strong including 75,000 active-duty, Reserve and National Guard service members among their ranks. An advocate to Veterans, VFW programs provides camaraderie for their members and serves the military, youth and communities long after their military discharge.
