Members of Western Salisbury Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer fire on Interstate 78 east just before the Summit Lawn exit shortly after 8 p.m. March 23. Lehigh County 911 radio reported they were receiving multiple calls of a fully involved tractor trailer with fire in the engine and driver's cab compartments. Crews were able to contain the fire to the tractor section of the rig. Both right lanes of the road were closed while crews worked to remove the damaged rid. Western Salisbury Fire Department was assisted by units from Allentown City Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
