An all-area Most Valuable Player, and a McDonald's All-American nominee, He played for two East Penn League championship teams, the 1996 team was unbeaten in the League, one District 11 championship team and three state tournament teams. He continued his college career at Division I Mount St. Mary's University. There he played in 112 games, as a four-year regular for The Mount.

In the 1998 season, his team won the Northeast Conference Championship and played against Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

During his senior year, he averaged 10.6 points per game while leading the team with 75 assists. He finished his career 5th in The Mount's history in three-point field goals made and he scored 804 points in his career.
