On March 12, the LVCHS choir and art program traveled to Lancaster to participate in a fine arts competition.

Student Justin Grim won first place in the category "nature and observation" against more than 100 other students, and earned a perfect score.

All individual and group performers were rated using a scale of good, excellent or superior. Students who scored in the superior category include Allison Aversa, Merari DeLaCruz, Jin Lee and Bobby VanDuzer. Jefferson Beltran, Jacob Stith and Michael Sun also competed and scored excellent.

Also participating in the ACSI fine arts competition was the LVCHS choir, the small vocal ensemble and a few select soloists.

The choir performed two songs and scored an excellent. The vocal ensemble competed with an a cappella piece and also scored an excellent. Soloists Livia Gehman and Brianna Westover competed in the classical vocalist category. Westover scored an excellent and Gehman a good. Rachel Prusak and Abby Parnell competed in the contemporary category and will be competing again next year.
