DUI
Gonzalo Chauca, 52, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 westbound at mile marker 60.8, Upper Saucon Township, 3:58 a.m. March 9. Chauca was stopped for a traffic violation and allegedly exhibited indicators of intoxication. Charges are pending results of a blood test.
Simple assault
Keith Gorton, 56, of Allentown, was charged with simple assault on Timberknoll Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 5:23 p.m. March 8. Gorton allegedly injured his wife's finger when he went to grab a phone.
Disorderly conduct
A 12-year-old male and an 11-year-old male were allegedly involved in a fight at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:30 p.m. March 8. The children were referred to the Lehigh County Impact Project.
Harassment
Richard Broadhurst, 42, of Allentown, was allegedly involved in an argument with a female in the 5000 block of Wood Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 3 a.m. Feb. 8. Police said Broadhurst removed a cell phone from the victim's hand, causing injury to her wrist. Charges will be filed in district court.
Criminal trespass
An unknown actor entered a residence in the 1000 block of Pine Grove Circle, Lower Macungie Township, between 8 a.m. and noon, March 10. Nothing was taken or damaged. The investigation is ongoing.
Criminal mischief
An unknown actor shot a vehicle with a bb gun in the 3800 block of Main Road West, Upper Milford Township, 10:03 p.m. March 5.
Burglary
An unknown actor stole several items from a residence under construction in the 4900 block of Kings Highway North, Upper Milford Township, between 8:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and 5 p.m. Feb. 26. The actor was able to break through a piece of plywood covering a rear window. A Makita reciprocating saw, Dewalt circular saw, a Paslode nail gun and various other items were stolen. The items were valued at $1,320.
An unknown actor stole several pieces of jewelry and jewelry boxes from a residence in the 2600 block of Saddle Lane, Lower Macungie Township, between 2:30 p.m. Feb. 27 and 9 a.m. Feb. 28.
Theft
An unknown actor stole several pieces of jewelry and a Sony reader from a residence in the 4800 block of East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, between March 1, 2007, and Aug. 1, 2011.
An unknown actor stole various items from a property in the 4000 block of Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, between Feb. 8 and 14. The actor stole a Craftsman tool box and a Stanley tool box, both containing tools.
An unknown actor drove away after filling $53.75 worth of gas at the Giant Gas Station, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15.
An unknown actor stole $430 from four vending machines at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 7:30 a.m. Feb. 25 and 8 a.m. March 4. The vending machines are owned by the National Entertainment Company, of Allentown, and are located in the general merchandise entrance of the store.
An unknown actor stole several pieces of jewelry from a residence on Fieldview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, March 10.
An unknown actor stole a red and black transport wheelchair and two oxygen tanks from a front yard in the 4200 block of South Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 6 and 7 p.m. March 10. The items may have been considered "curbside" and taken by mistake.
Theft by deception
An unknown actor sent the victim a fraudulent money order in the amount of $930.50 as part of a mystery shopper program Feb. 6. The victim then sent $650 via Western Union to Jersey City N.J. as per the actor's instructions Feb. 8. The victim's bank then advised her the money order was fraudulent.
Sean Cook, of Allentown, was charged with theft by deception at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:35 p.m. March 3. Cook allegedly attempted to return $159 worth of merchandise without paying for the items.
Theft from a motor vehicle
An unknown actor stole numerous vehicle parts from a vehicle in the 5400 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, between Dec. 15, 2012, and March 6.
An unknown actor stole a black tri-fold wallet with miscellaneous cards in the 4200 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, between 8:30 p.m. Feb. 27 and 5:30 a.m. Feb. 28.
An unknown actor stole a silver necklace from a vehicle in the 4600 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 4:30 p.m. March 1 and 11:30 a.m. March 3.
An unknown actor took items from two unlocked vehicles in the 3600 block of Clauss Drive and the 3700 block of Knight Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 6:30 p.m. March 2 and 12:30 p.m. March 3. The actor stole a woman's handbag, several competition Frisbees, a backpack and a faceplate to a car stereo. A few of the items were recovered in the yard of one of the victims.
Attempted theft from a motor vehicle
An unknown actor gained entry to a vehicle parked in the 4000 block of Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 and 5:21 p.m. Feb. 8. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
An unknown actor gained entry to a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Barnside Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 1:40 and 11 a.m. March 8. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
Retail theft
Joseph Myers, 22, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:09 a.m. March 5. Myers was allegedly observed tucking four DVDs in his pants.
Sarah Newman, 24, of Coopersburg, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:31 p.m. March 5. Newman was allegedly observed placing various items in her purse.
Candace Hauser, 42, of Emmaus, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:12 p.m. March 7. Hauser allegedly placed $29.07 worth of merchandise in her purse before attempting to leave the store.
John Tahacker, 31, of Elkins Park, allegedly stole $60.40 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2 p.m. March 9. Tahacker will be charged with retail theft in district court.
Spencer Jones, 19, of Allentown, was cited for retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:15 p.m. March 9. Jones allegedly attempted to steal 105.79 worth of merchandise.
Felicia Cespedes, 41, of Allentown, was allegedly involved in retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:32 p.m. March 10. Cespedes allegedly attempted to steal two Razor scooters with a total value of $101.94.
Access device fraud
An unknown actor gained access to a Macungie resident's PayPal account and purchased two fishing rods 4 p.m. Jan. 31. The total value of the merchandise was $837.94.
An unknown actor swiped a fraudulent copy of a credit card and used it to make $9,700 worth of purchases at various Target department stores Feb. 21.
