Theft

An unknown actor stole three metal buckets from Yeakel Roofing, 29 Ridge Street, Emmaus, overnight March 5. The buckets are valued at approximately $450.

Incident response

The Emmaus Police Department responded to an incident at Emmaus High School 12:27 p.m. March 12. The incident was not related to the Dec. 21, 2012 bomb threat. No one was injured and students and faculty were not disrupted. The investigation is ongoing. School officials are in the process of pursuing disciplinary measures pursuant to East Penn School District policy.

Terroristic threats

The Emmaus Police Department announced March 12 an Emmaus High School ninth grade student has been charged with terroristic threats, a felony of the third degree, for a threat communicated to Emmaus High School Dec. 20, 2012. Charges will be referred to Lehigh County Juvenile Court. EHS received three such threats in the last three months. Police said the investigation is continuing on the other threats.

"This arrest underscores the excellent working relationship and networking we have with the East Penn Schools," Chief of Police David A. Faust, MS, said. "This is another example of school officials and law enforcement working together to keep our schools as safe as we possibly can."
