Couple to wed

on July 6

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Gawlas of Hanover Township, Luzerne County, announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Marie Gawlas, to Colin James Walsh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Walsh of Northampton.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and King's College.

She is a first-grade teacher in Loudoun County, Va.

Her fiance is a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and King's College.

He works for Catapult Consultants, Arlington, Va.

The couple became engaged March 11, 2012, at the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, D.C.

Appropriately, the proposal was made on stage in the theater, as they were when they first met while playing the roles of Romeo and Juliet in their college production.

The couple will exchange vows July 6 at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.

They will reside in Reston, Va., with their dog, Ava.
