The arts at Lehigh Valley Christian High School are taking an impressive turn.
Two choral students, Matthew Weaver and Abigail Parnell, participated in the Lehigh County Choir at Dieruff High School along with many other students from around the Lehigh Valley.
In addition, another choral student, Paula Herbert, was chosen to participate in the selective Districts Choir in Reading.
On March 12 the LVCHS choir will be participating in its annual competition, called ACSI Fine Arts Festival, at Lancaster Bible College.
LVCHS will also be competing in the Freddy Awards for the first time this year. Performances of "Annie" are set for April 19 and 20. The school invites the public to come out and support the drama program, now only in its first year.

In February, LVCHS celebrated the annual Day of Purity. A special group known as Teen Challenge, a substance abuse rehabilitation center, did a presentation which included rap music. A guest speaker from CareNet, a crisis pregnancy center, also gave an abstinence presentation called LifeSmart.

Winter Sports at LVCHS have come to a close. Both the boys and the girls basketball teams had good seasons.
The boys basketball team made the ACCAC conference playoffs, losing to Concord Christian in the quarterfinals.
The girls team also made the ACCAC conference playoffs, losing in the semifinals but winning the third-place game. They also earned a spot in the PIAA District XI class A playoffs, losing a quarter-final game to Notre Dame High School from East Stroudsburg.
Spring sports have begun. LVCHS offers co-ed track and field and boys baseball. In the future, the school hopes to offer girls softball.

The junior class will be taking the ASVAB test during the second week of March. This is a vocational aptitude test that helps students determine their skills and abilities and how they will translate into careers.

Computer classes will be visiting WFMZ during the second week of March as well. The following week, Dr. Jonathan Sarfati from Creation Ministries International in Georgia will speak during a special chapel March 18 and again that evening for parents. This is a free event.

LVCHS is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month with a big dinner and program in the gym March 16. The focus will be on all the great things that God has done in and through our school over the years.
