Gun stolen

in Weisenberg Twp.

According to a police report received Feb. 15, State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Lance Ryan Kramer of Kutztown reported a black .357-caliber Rueger Blackhawk single-action revolver, stored in a gun case inside a locker at Walbert Contracting, 10176 Schoolhouse Road, Weis-enberg Township was stolen sometime between July 1, 2012 and Feb. 9.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call state police and reference incident number M05-1451939.

Copper plumbing

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Freddie Mac reported copper plumbing was cut and stolen sometime between midnight and 10:30 a.m. Feb. 6 from the basement of a home in the 6600 block of Bittners Corner Road, Lowhill Township.

Two charged

with burglary

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Allen Mikael Varilek, 21, of 3426 Smith Hill Road, and Justin Devlin Hoffman, 18, 335 4th S., both of Slatington, allegedly forcibly entered a home in the 2600 block of Grove Street, Washington Township, between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 1 and noon Feb. 3.

Police allege once inside the two broke into a Cabella's gun safe, shot approximately 11 .22-caliber rounds within the home, before stealing $5,000 in cash, several gold and precious coins, tools, hunting equipment and a 2005 Mercury Montego.

According to police, this investigation led to criminal charges being filed against the pair, later in the evening on Feb. 3, police say.

Both men have been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief, say police.

Police say both men were arrested in Northumberland County Feb. 4, after arrest warrants were issued.

Both men are being held in Northumberland County Prison pending additional charges in that county, police say.

According to police, the homeowner was not home at the time of the burglary.

A total value of the stolen property has not been competely determined at this time, police say.

This incident remains under investigation.

Vehicle overturns

in Washington Twp.

Kelly A. Hewitt, 44, of Slatington, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on Best Station Road at the intersection with Old Mill Road, Washington Township, 6:02 a.m. Feb. 1 when when she lost control of the SUV.

The Blazer exited the road on the right shoulder, struck an embankment and overturned, State Police Troop M Bethlehem say.

The SUV sustained disabling damage to the driver's side, the front and roof areas, and was removed from the scene by Carl's Towing, police say.

Hewitt, who was wearing her seat belt, sustained minor injuries to the head and transported by Northern Valley EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Friedens Fire Department, PennDOT and Trooper Brandon Labar assisted at the scene.
