The Emmaus wrestlers are preparing for the District 11 individual championships which take place Friday and Saturday at Liberty High School.
The Hornets, who made the District 11 Duals this season, boast a mix of youth and experience that will all be trying to advance to the Northeast Regional the following week. The top six placewinners from District 11 move on to regionals. Seedings for the district tournament are scheduled to be released on Wednesday night.
Both seniors Gordon Diachendt (152 pounds, 20-9) and Jansen Grabowski (145, 17-9) are among the Hornet hopefuls.
Sophomore Thomas Alcaro (above) has pieced together a nice season, going 23-6 at 182 pounds.
The winningest Hornet entering districts is freshman Taylor Schaf (106, 24-6). His classmate Cole Franklin (138, 22-9) also will be among the Hornets contending for a regional bid.
