The SkillsUSA District XI competition was held Jan. 30. The district will be honoring the district's winners at the school board meeting March 25.
Congratulations go to Andrew Acevedo, first place, Job Skill Demo A; Justin Cole, first place, HVAC-R; Joseph Fronti III, first place, welding; Karli Zackeru, first place, graphic communications; Katie Hujcs, second place, Health Knowledge Bowl; Ryan Kendzierski, second place, building maintenance technology; Austin Kochenash, second place, automotive service specialty; Joe Mills, second place, Team Works; Alyssa Reed, second place, Health Knowledge Bowl; Shawna Schibilia, second place, Health Knowledge Bowl; Joshua Mack, third place, automotive service technology; and Jared Masonheimer, third place, related technical math.
All of the first-place winners will be going to the state competition April 3-5.
Schools closed: Don't forget school will be closed Friday, Feb. 15, for an in-service day for teachers and staff.
Parents and students are reminded schools will be open Monday, Feb. 18. This date was originally on the school calendar as a day off, but now is an instructional makeup day for students.
School board meeting: The public is invited to the next school board meeting, set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25.
The group meets at 6:30 pm. in the administration office on Laubach Avenue.
