Northwestern got its first team win of the season, beating Schuylkill Haven 61-15 in a nonleague match.

The Tigers used four pins and four forfeits to improve to 1-12 this year.

Quentin Bernhard (120 pounds) and Andrew Sorensen (160) both registered first-period falls for Northwestern, while Jarrett White and Joe Colucci also pinned their Hurricane opponents.

Mitchell Evans added a major decision at 170.

The Slaters (17-4 overall, 13-2 Colonial League) were led by Morgan McCollian's 12 points.

The Tigers (20-1, 14-1) got 12 points from Erika Thomas.

Northwestern

After a close game for 30 minutes, Tigers secured a 52-47 late in the game against Palmerton.

The teams exchanged leads 17 times in the game and neither ever led by more than four points.

Northwestern's Sara Jones scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. Trista Cunningham added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Sabrina Mertz went 6 for 6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points in the game. Northwestern shot 10 for 22 from the foul line in the first three quarters, but went 9 for 10 in the fourth.

The Bombers were led by Emilie Meinhart's 13 points. Jade Farquhar had 11.
