The Woman's Club of Whitehall has selected Whitehall High School student Duyen Tran as the January Girl of the Month.

Tran, the daughter of Mr. Mong Tran and Mrs. Tin, of Whitehall, has achieved honor roll all marking periods.

She is a member of the concert band, concert choir, theater club, Leo Club and German Club. She also serves as the stage manager for the theater department and was the production assistant for the school's 2012 fall play.

Tran is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the Lehigh County band.

She also volunteers for Phoebe Nursing Home, Lehigh Valley Hospital and the Special Olympics, and was an MS and Plumpy'nut Charity Walk participant.

Tran plans to attend college to study chemistry and, after obtaining a bachelor degree, attend medical school.
