The St. Luke's dental van will be coming to the Whitehall-Coplay Middle School on Friday, Feb. 8.

The van will be at the school all day to provide much needed services for the middle school students. Parents with questions should contact the school.

Homework requests: When a student has been absent from school for three or more days, parents may request the student's homework.

Parents should call the school to make the request. Parents of middle school students should choose option 1 to request homework.

Homework must be picked up in the main offices before 4 p.m.

In case of winter weather: Parents are reminded to make arrangements for their children in the event that school is dismissed early due to winter weather. Parents should make sure their children know what to do in case of an emergency.

Parents can listen to daily weather reports to learn whether school schedules could be impacted. Parents can also visit the district website at www.whitehallcoplay.org.

In the event of bad weather, the school district may opt to close school for the day, open later or close early. In the event of a two-hour delay, a modified kindergarten schedule will be used in which the morning session begins at 10:50 a.m. and ends at 12:40 p.m. Afternoon kindergarten will begin at 1:25 p.m. and end at 3:15 p.m.

Super Bowl Friday: Zephyr's Winter Time Blues Week ends tomorrow, Feb. 1, with Super Bowl colors day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear their favorite Super Bowl team colors.

Steckel students are also having a Super Bowl jersey day tomorrow. Join the fun and show your school spirit.

Reminder: Parents who choose to drive their children to school are requested to make sure their child arrives on time.

The school day begins promptly at 8:50 a.m. for elementary students and morning kindergarten. Afternoon kindergarten begins at 12:30 p.m.

Tardy students cause interruptions in the classroom.
