The Military Nursing Corps of Pennsylvania, VFW Post 12099, is currently welcoming female and male veterans with service in overseas conflicts. Current members of Post 12099 have proudly served in every conflict from World War II to active status in the Global War on Terror.

Post 12099 is headquartered in the General Charles C. Curtis National Guard Armory, 1501 Allen St., Allentown and meets 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Those interested in membership are encouraged to attend a meeting or contact Commander Joe Zeller at 610-298-3254.

The Veteran's discharge paper (DD214), or if active duty, a letter from their commanding officer, is required to determine eligibility for elite VFW membership. Korea Duty beginning June 30, 1949 remains open through today for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of duty on the Korean Peninsula, its airspace and territorial waters.

The National VFW is 1.9 million strong including 75,000 active-duty, Reserve and National Guard service members among their ranks. An advocate to Veterans, VFW programs provides camaraderie for their members and serves the military, youth and communities long after their military discharge.
