Warrant service
Matthew Lerch, 39, of Emmaus, was arrested on a warrant service for unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault and harassment subject to other physical contact at the Knight's Inn, 1880 Steelstone Road, Hanover Township, after a standoff with police between 1 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14. Lerch was being arrested for a warrant associated with a prior incident occurring in Emmaus. Information developed that Lerch had registered as a guest at the Knight's Inn and troopers made contact with him on the third floor. Lerch allegedly secured himself in the room and refused to exit, prompting officers to evacuate the floor as a safety precaution. Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team negotiators were able to make contact with Lerch eventually leading to his surrender around 6:30 p.m. Lerch was found to be unarmed.
Criminal mischief
Nicole Kilareski, of Macungie, was charged with criminal mischief for an incident in the 5600 block of Wood Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 10 p.m. Dec. 23, 2012. Kilareski allegedly smashed a window before leaving the scene.
An unknown actor damaged a vehicle in the 4000 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, between 8 p.m. Jan. 12 and 9 a.m. Jan. 13. The actor used a wooden pitchfork to stab two holes in the hood of a vehicle, smashed the front windshield of the vehicle and scraped profanity in the passenger door of the vehicle. The total cost of the damage was $500.
False alarm to an agency
Premier Mortgage, 4610 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, was cited Dec. 22, 2012, for allowing four false alarms in a 12-month period.
Pratt Industries, 7533 Industrial Park Way, Lower Macungie Township, was cited Dec. 26, 2012, for allowing four false alarms in a 12-month period.
William Bryfogle, of Macungie, was cited for false alarm to an agency Jan. 12 for allowing four false alarms at his residence in a 12-month period.
Confinement of dogs within premises of owner
A dog owned by Stephen Shellhammer, 50, of Macungie, allegedly attacked another dog on a sidewalk located in front of his residence 6:35 p.m. Jan. 6.
Retail theft
Alberto Justinano, 18, of Allentown, and Virginia Weaver, 18, of Mertztown, were charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4 p.m. Jan. 5. The pair allegedly attempted to steal various items.
Migdalia Fontanez, 31, of Allentown, and Juan Alvarado, 31, of Allentown, were charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:34 p.m. Jan. 6. The pair allegedly attempted to steal $718.52 worth of merchandise.
Aubrielle Billig, 19, of Topton, and Antonio Quiles, 22, of Topton, were charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6. The pair allegedly attempted to conceal various items before leaving the store.
Joseph Williams, 19, of Northampton, was charged with retail theft, harassment, driving on roadways laned for traffic and driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:51 p.m. Jan. 6. Williams allegedly attempted to steal a sound bar speaker worth $98 from the electronics department and was stopped by an employee. Police said Williams then fled on foot and struck another employee in the stomach with his elbow before exiting toward Lower Macungie Road. Williams allegedly returned to the lot and was seen entering a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta before driving away without headlights to avoid detection by law enforcement. Police said they observed Williams enter the opposite lane of travel while fleeing onto Krocks Road and conducted a traffic stop, taking him into custody without incident.
Kelly Flicker, 21, of Mertztown, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:50 p.m. Jan. 19. Flicker allegedly attempted to steal $28.85 worth of merchandise.
Theft
An unknown actor stole a diamond ring from a residence in the 4600 block of Bluegrass Lane, Macungie, between Jan. 1, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2012.
Michael Donnelly, 44, of Catasauqua, was charged with 26 counts of theft and 16 counts of retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, for incidents occurring between Nov. 11, 2012, and Dec. 15, 2012. Donnelly, a former employee of Walmart, allegedly stole money from a cash register on several occasions and removed food and drinks from the store without paying multiple times. The total value of cash and items stolen amounted to $187.90.
An unknown actor stole three car jacks and 20 gallons of fuel from trucks at Mechanics Plus, 4701 Colebrook Ave., Upper Milford Township, between 11 p.m. Jan. 4 and 10 a.m. Jan. 6.
Virginia Weaver, of Lower Macungie Township, was charged with theft in the 9500 block of Mertztown Road, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 6 for an incident which occurred in late May, 2012. Weaver allegedly stole two gold necklaces, a pair of diamond earrings, a Kodak camera and a digital picture frame from the residence and sold the items at a pawn shop. The total value of the items was $2,200.
An unknown actor stole a log splitter from a residence in the 3100 block of Sequoia Drive, Lower Macungie Township, the evening of Jan. 12. The actor wheeled the grey and black Huskee vertical log splitter across several backyards on Ridings Circle, Macungie. The value of the item is $1,500.
An unknown actor stole $20 in change from a vehicle in the 1900 block of Wind Hill Road, Coopersburg, Jan. 13. The victim was taking her dogs out early in the morning when she saw a tall white male in a big blue jacket, khaki pants and sneakers going through her car. He then fled the scene.
Theft of services
An unknown actor illegally placed six bags of garbage in a garbage container at Leon's Park, Spring Creek Road and Red Oak Lane, Lower Macungie Township, between Jan. 4 and Jan. 7.
Theft from a motor vehicle
An unknown actor broke into a commercial vehicle parked on Industrial Way, Lower Macungie Township, between 6 and 11:55 p.m. Jan. 3. The actor stole a GPS, an HP laptop and a Cobra CB radio.
Access device fraud
An unknown actor used a Macungie resident's credit card to make an online purchase 3 p.m. Dec. 5, 2012.
An unknown actor opened Home Depot and Dell credit cards in a Macungie resident's name Dec. 12, 2012. The actor purchased unknown items utilizing the cards.
An unknown actor obtained personal information from an Allentown resident in the 1100 block of Hillview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between noon Dec. 17, 2012, and 12:45 p.m. Dec. 31, 2012. The victim closed the credit cards and bank accounts before any money was stolen.
An unknown actor attempted to use a Lower Macungie resident's credit card to make online purchases between 12:01 a.m. Dec. 27, 2012, and 11:59 p.m. Dec. 28, 2012.
An unknown actor made an unauthorized charge on an Allentown resident's credit card Dec. 30, 2012. The actor used the victim's MasterCard to make a purchase through Amazon.
An unknown actor used a Lower Macungie resident's credit card to make unauthorized purchases between 6:11 p.m. Dec. 30, 2012, and 1:03 p.m. Dec. 31, 2012.
