Car rolls after

hitting snowbank

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Nicholas M. Rasvage, 25, of Palmerton, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo northbound on Golden Key Road, south of Werleys Corner Road, Weisenberg Township, at 5:27 p.m. on Jan. 5 when the car struck a snowbank.

Police say Rasvage lost control of the car on the snow-covered road.

The car veered to the left and then to the right before striking the snowbank on the east side of the road with its front end.

The car began to travel up the snowbank before rolling onto its left side where it came to a final rest facing east.

Rasvage, who was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured, police say.

Driver avoids deer,

car hits tree

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Matthew S. Dietrich, 19, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on Red Road, Lynn Township, at 11:44 p.m. Jan. 7, attempting a turn onto Trout Lake Road, when a deer entered the roadway from the west.

As Dietrich attempted to avoid hitting the deer, the car left the roadway and struck a tree along the right berm of Trout Lake Road.

The car remained at final rest at the point of impact.

Police say Dietrich, who was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured.

Driver arrested

for DUI

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Shawn Christopher Boland, 21, of Walnutport, was stopped at 2:27 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2012, for an alleged traffic violation on Route 863 at Allemaengel Road, Lynn Township.

Police allege multiple indicators of impairment were observed and Boland was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sean Curtis Knapp, 20, of Slatington, a passenger in the vehicle, also allegedly displayed indicators of impairment, police say.

Charges were filed upon the receipt of blood results for Boland with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.

Driver taken

into custody

According to a police report received Jan. 10, State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Erik Edwards Evans, 46, of Slatington, was taken to the Lehigh County DUI Center and released after he drove his vehicle off the roadway and it became stuck in the mud at 11:18 a.m. Dec. 6, 2012, on Old Mill Road at Best Station Road, Washington Township.

Police allege the property owner confronted Evans, at which time he allegedly left when he learned police were called.

While police were on the scene, Evans returned and he was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Charges were filed before District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.

Peter T. Brown, 19, of Deltona, Fla., was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger when it struck a speed limit sign on Route 143, Lynn Township, at 11:46 a.m. Dec. 29, State Police Troop M Fogelsville say.

According to police, the Ford was traveling east on Route 143, just west of Clover Road, when Brown lost control of his vehicle and drove off
