Lehigh County Cooperative Extension is forming a new 4-H Club.
Do you love to visit farms, farmers markets, corn mazes or pick-your-own?
Have you ever wondered about being your own boss? Do you enjoy working in agriculture?
Have you considered all the possibilities of direct-to-consumer farm marketing?
The club will explore how food gets from the farm to the dinner table and researching possible businesses and associated careers, enhancing life skills, as well as actually running a farm-related business.
Details will be set after the group starts, but for now the club plans to meet 6:30-8:30 p.m. for six consecutive weeks in July and August.
Some of the meetings will take place at local agritourism sites.
Club members, ages 8-18, will see farm related tourist attractions while learning about agriculture at the same time.
Youth members and adult volunteers are needed.
