LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

New year begins at LVCHS

After a weeklong break from school to celebrate Christmas, Lehigh Valley Christian High School has jumped right back into the swing of things.

Last Friday, the drama department had auditions for its spring musical production. We would love for you to support us by coming to see our musical in April.

The choral program recently had its Christmas concert at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and it was very entertaining and filled with talent. The choir has already begun the preparations for their annual spring concert and their spring vocal competition at ACSI.

Our girls' basketball team is currently 6-1 and in first place in the North Division of the Atlantic Coast Christian Athletic Conference. We have home conference games coming on Jan. 11 and 18.

***

We have a special Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 16, to focus on the Sanctity of Human Life Day. This is the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, but since it falls during exam week, we are "celebrating" it a week early. Our special speaker will be giving a biblical perspective on the issue of abortion.

First-semester exams are Tuesday through Thursday, Jan. 22-24. We will have two review days (Jan. 17 and 18), no school on Monday, Jan. 21, and a teacher work day on Friday, Jan. 25. The second semester begins Monday, Jan. 28.

All in all, LVCHS is starting off 2013 with a bang, and plans on maintaining its school mission statement both now and for years to come. We seek "to equip students to think biblically and function purposefully in society" for the glory of God!
