The holidays are just around the corner. The nights are getting colder, and every neighborhood street seems to be filled with holiday lights, wreaths and reindeer. Department stores are blasting holiday classics such as "Baby It's Cold Outside, "Santa Baby" and a multitude of other winter songs.

Cars are being decorated with seasonal touches such as reindeer antlers, Rudolph noses and Christmas stickers.

Seasonal socks and sweaters are being worn like it's going out of style, especially with the "ugly Christmas sweater" tradition high school students seem to have adapted.

Holiday television specials are being played everyday on networks such as ABC Family, Lifetime and more. Among the classics are "Home Alone," "Rudolph," "Frosty the Snowman" and "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown." Of course, there are also the classic Claymation movies such as "The Year Without Santa Claus" and more.

Emmaus High School students are celebrating with the ugly Christmas sweater tradition, as well as organizing cookie parties, gift exchanges, and other holiday gatherings.

"Secret Santa" is also becoming more prevalent at the high school, whether it be through a club or among groups of friends. There is nothing like surprising a friend with a secretive yet thoughtful holiday gift.

Another holiday tradition that lies dear in the hearts of Emmaus students is the annual Mr. and Mrs. Claus photos during lunch periods. Students and their friends can get their photos taken with two senior students on the senior stage all of last week.

Homerooms have also been decorating diligently in preparation for the annual homeroom-decorating contest. The winning homeroom will receive a highly sought after breakfast party.

The holiday season comes and passes during the blink of an eye. Be sure to enjoy every moment.
