Bakeries from throughout the region are coming together for a sweet, new event, "The Cupcake Bowl," 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Dec. 29, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
The benefit raises funds for ArtsQuest's Arts Education Programming Fund, which provides quality arts and educational programs and experiences for students from throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Attendees will cast their votes to determine the People's Choice winner, while a judging panel will decide the winners for Best Frosting, Best Cake, Best Decoration and Best Overall Taste.
Cupcake Bowl participants include Amy's Sweets & Treats, Antonella's Bakery, Cathy's Creative Catering & Café, Cuddles' Cupcake Bar, Delightful Designs-Sweets Buffets, Granny Schmidt's Bake Shop, Iron Lakes Country Club, Kym's Creations Bakery, Rodale Catering & Events and The Flour Shop Bakery.
Entertaining will be the Dan DeChellis Trio.

St. Luke's winner: Univest Corp. awarded St. Luke's Hospital - Quakertown Campus $1,000 for winning the "Committed to Local" Facebook contest.
The contribution is part of Univest's "Committed to Local" campaign which is focused on advancing the missions of local nonprofit organizations focused on youth education and wellness development.
As of Sept. 30, Univest partnered with more than 60 nonprofit organizations tied to youth education and wellness development and contributed more than $485,000 to those causes. Univest employees pledged to volunteer more than 10,000 hours in local communities in 2012.
