The students at Zephyr Elementary School will host their Lil' Shoppers Shoppe for the holidays Dec. 10-13.

Steckel Elementary School will host the Lil' Shoppers Shoppe Dec. 13-21. Watch for more information being sent home.

Schools closed: A professional development day is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 14. School will be closed.

Please help: The Zephyr Key Club's holiday drive began Nov. 27 and runs until Friday, Dec. 14.

The Key Club is collecting nonperishable food items for Christmas dinner baskets to donate to Whitehall families over the holidays. Teachers from the Whitehall Coplay Education Association will be assisting the Zephyr Key Club in delivering the food baskets Dec. 17-21.

In addition to donations for food baskets, the Key Club is collecting new toys, hats, gloves and gently used and new coats to donate to local families in need.

PTO holiday tour: The PTO is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City Saturday, Dec. 29, which will include Macy's Herald Square, Rockefeller Center and other shopping areas.

The bus departs from Whitehall High School at 9 a.m. and will return around 9 p.m. There is a cost. Ticket price includes services of a professional travel guide, driver gratuity and maps for each stop.

Early dismissal: Parents are reminded of an early dismissal throughout the district Friday, Dec 21.

First grade and morning kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. Kindergartners will be dismissed approximately 10 minutes later than their normal dismissal. They will be riding the elementary buses with grades 1-5. There will be no afternoon kindergarten on this day.
