Via is again offering Via Teen Winter Experience for teens and young adults with disabilities this December. Via Teen Winter Experience offers exciting and valuable experiences for participants between Christmas and New Year's when schools are typically closed.
Via Teen Winter Experience is Dec. 26, 27, 28 and 31, and is for teens and young adults from age 13 to 21. This program helps young adults with disabilities connect to their community through recreational, social, volunteer and educational activities to help prepare for adult life.
"We provide meaningful activities to enhance social connections during the time teens and young adults are not in school," Via Teen Experience Coordinator Jess Elliott said. "Participants in Via Teen Winter Experience spend the winter break building their social skills in community settings and reconnect to relationships and friendships they formed over the summer."
Via Teen Experience, a part of Via Community Connections, helps students develop life skills to help them make transition from high school to adult life. Via has been serving the community since 1954. Via's mission is to provide support and opportunities for children and adults with disabilities so they can live full, independent and productive lives within the community.
