Couple celebrates 65 years

Caroline and Al Abruzzi celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Nov. 4 at a dinner hosted by their family at the West Coplay Maennerchor, Whitehall.

The Abruzzis were married Nov. 2, 1947, by the Rev. Joseph Ducci in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto.

The couple renewed their wedding vows at an anniversary Mass given by the Most Rev. Bishop John O. Barres, Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

The Abruzzis are the proud parents of four children: David of Slatington, Dennis of Whitehall, Karen Lewis of Easton and Colleen of Allentown.

They have 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The invocation at the dinner was offered by the Rev. Robert Zweifel of Northampton, a nephew of the Abruzzis.

Approximately 50 family members and friends attended the dinner at the West Coplay Maennerchor. Music was provided by John Lewis Enterprises of Coplay.
