Ophthalmologist joins practice

Karen I. Dacey, MD, a comprehensive ophthalmologist, has joined McDonald Ophthalmology and Associates, Bethlehem.

She was a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Andrews Air Force Base, home of Air Force One, prior to joining McDonald.

She was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and supported an Air Force humanitarian mission to Panama.

She completed 11 years of active duty service in the United States Air Force. She received her medical education as a 2nd Lt. at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Md., in 2000. She was primary care physician at Brooks City-Base, San Antonio, Tex. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, in 2006.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Barnard College, Columbia University.

She lives with her husband and two children in South Whitehall Township.
