STATE POLICE
DUI
Rodney Kurtz, of Macungie, was arrested for DUI on Spring Creek Road at Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:46 p.m. Oct. 25. Police said they saw Kurtz's vehicle swerve across the double yellow lines four times prompting them to conduct a traffic stop. Kurtz was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Rachel Ward, 29, of Barto, was arrested for DUI on Lower Macungie Road at Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 1:50 p.m. Oct. 27. Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle and allegedly found Ward attempting to inject heroin while seated in her vehicle. A search revealed various suspected drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Denis Giffels, 60, of Brodheadsville, was arrested for DUI on Brookside Road at Spruce Street, Lower Macungie Township, 11:24 p.m. Oct. 27. Giffels was stopped for multiple traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Cory Shellhammer, 23, of Bethlehem, was arrested for DUI on Lehigh Street at Interstate 78, Allentown, 12:27 a.m. Nov. 4. Shellhamer was stopped for an equipment violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Denise Hartnett, 45, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 at Lehigh Street, Allentown, 2:08 a.m. Nov. 5. Hartnett was stopped for traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Charles Halley, 23, of Menands, N.Y., was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 westbound between mile marker 59.8 and 59.5, Salisbury Township, 1:52 a.m. Nov. 6. Halley was stopped for traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Halley and his passenger, Charles Durr, 23, of Albany, N.Y., were both allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.
Drug possession
Anthony Taliercio, 22, of Norwalk, Conn., was arrested for drug possession on Interstate 78 westbound at mile marker 55.9, Salisbury Township. Taliercio was stopped for following too closely and allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and 3.3 pounds of marijuana.
Ciarasade Tatem, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested for drug possession on Interstate 78 eastbound at mile marker 49.2. Tatem was stopped for speeding and was allegedly found to be driving with a suspended license and in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.
Recklessly endangering another person
Ricky Vincent, 57, of Clinton, La., was charged with recklessly endangering another person and simple assault on Interstate 78 at the Summit Lawn exit, Salisbury Township, 8:55 p.m. Nov. 1. Vincent reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with a coworker of a tree removal company and allegedly fired a gun in the air during the confrontation on the exit ramp.
Disorderly conduct
Shannon Duffy, 32, of Weisenberg Township, was charged with disorderly conduct in the Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:27 p.m. Oct. 24. Duffy allegedly sprayed an obscene gesture on the victim's vehicle with white powder.
Harassment
A 33-year-old male, of Bangor, was cited for harassment after a physical altercation at a private residence in Upper Milford Township, 2:13 p.m. Nov. 3.
Criminal mischief
An unknown actor dented a garage door in the 7100 block of Tuscany Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 9:50 p.m. Oct. 27. The actor allegedly took a running jump and slammed into the garage door. State Police are advising residents to be aware of juveniles vandalizing houses in the area.
Burglary
An unknown actor burglarized Wlazelek's Auction Gallery, 2571 Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, between 10 p.m. Oct. 25 and 8:40 a.m. Oct. 26. The actor forced entry into the building and stole several pieces of gold jewelry and a SKS rifle from the building.
Theft
An unknown actor stole an Xbox and a television from a home in the 6500 block of Hickory Road, Lower Macungie Township, between Oct. 20 and 24.
An unknown actor stole a 2010 purple Verde Cadet pedal bike from the Hess gas station, Krocks Road and Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, between 8 and 9 p.m. Oct. 25.
An unknown actor stole a jacket from a shopping cart at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 2 and 3 a.m. Oct. 26. The victim had personal belongings in the jacket including a wallet and cell phone.
Retail theft
Jose Martinez, 30, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft and harassment at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:24 p.m. Oct. 25. Martinez allegedly attempted to steal $12.96 worth of merchandise and pushed a loss prevention officer while leaving the store.
A 23-year-old female was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:42 p.m. Oct. 25. The suspect allegedly stole $144.14 worth of merchandise.
William Andino, 41, of Slatington, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:35 p.m. Oct. 27. Andino allegeldy attempted to steal a television valued at $198.
Access device fraud
An unknown actor used a Lower Macungie Township resident's credit card to fraudulently purchase $2,307.31 worth of merchandise from the Home Depot website.
