Whitehall High School student Jessica Watson recently was named the October Girl of the Month by the Woman's Club of Whitehall.

Watson has attained high honor roll all marking periods. She scored a 540 verbal on the SAT, 610 on the math section and 690 on the writing portion of the college entrance exam.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, County Band and County Choir.

She also received the Kathy Kestler Music Award, was a Science Olympiad Medalist and participated in the Penn State Emerging Leadership Program.

Watson's school activities include chorale, choraliers, the jazz band, gospel choir, musical cast, marching band, concert choir, concert band, Scholastic Scrimmage Team, Science Olympiad, Book Club, Creative Writing Club and the tennis team.

She also is an altar server, plays softball and is a former Girl Scout.

Watson plans to attend Arcadia University to major in forensic science or pre-med.

She is the daughter or Mr. and Mrs. David Watson, of Whitehall.
