Students and parents are reminded that the first quarter Zephyr Reading Challenge is quickly coming to a close. Student reading logs are due Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Students have been challenged as a school to read 300,000 pages.

The principal has promised to dye her hair blue if the challenge is met. Come on kids, get reading. Time is running out!

WHS spring musical: Any student interested in auditioning for Whitehall High School's spring musical "Oliver!" is asked to attend a meeting in the high school auditorium Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m.

Auditions are open to all students interested in performing and who have a talent in singing, acting or dancing.

The meeting will cover information about scheduling, auditions and general information about the show. If you have any questions, email Mr. Borghesani at borghesania@ whitehallcoplay.org.

ESOL Family Night: You are invited to attend the Whitehall-Coplay School District ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Family Night.

It will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the middle school.

Zephyr family portraits: Christmas City Studio will once again be at Zephyr to photograph individuals or families, including pets, for holiday gift giving.

The photos will be taken Nov. 19-21.

Appointments can be scheduled for the afternoons and early evenings by calling the Zephyr main office at 610-871-3671. There is a fee.

Lunch accounts: Parents are reminded to check their child's lunch account often to assure that funds are available.

Further information is available through mySchoolBucks.com and include your name, child's name, grade and phone number. Those without online access can contact the cafeteria weekdays 9:30-11 a.m.
