The 2012-2013 school year is certainly accelerating at an alarming rate. We are already past Homecoming week, which proved to be a fun event for students and faculty at Emmaus High School alike.
Students enjoyed the powder-puff football tournament, spirit week dress-up days, the Homecoming parade, the Homecoming game, and of course the Homecoming dance.
That being said, there are many upcoming events scheduled for EHS students.
The Interact Club will be holding a general meeting 2:35 p.m. Nov. 1 in room 580. Entertainment book fundraising items and other topics will be discussed. Students unable to attend the meeting should see Mrs. Zarnas to receive the necessary materials.
Senior students are reminded to have their photo taken by either Harwick Photography or Wesley Works by Nov. 4 if they want to be included in the yearbook.
On Saturday Nov. 3, there will be SAT and subject testing 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. As always, students are encouraged to get a good night's sleep, eat a well-balanced breakfast and come prepared with ample pencils, erasers and a calculator.
On Tuesday, Nov. 6 EHS will enjoy an Act 80 day. Students will be dismissed 11 a.m.
The EHS Drama Department will present a modern, revamped version of William Shakespeare's "Macbeth." The show runs 7 p.m. Nov. 8, 9, and 10 in the EHS auditorum. Tickets can be ordered online, in the EHS main office as well as at the door.
The Invisible Children Club will be collecting spare change to benefit Northern Uganda until Nov. 13. Change can be given to a club member or in room 531 to assist students in need in Northern Uganda.
Students in need of academic assistance can receive any extra help through the tutoring program. Tutor request forms are available for pickup in room 50, the library or the counseling office. Completed forms can be submitted to Mr. Grabfelder in room 560.
