Are you a Catasauqua High School student interested in entering the 2013 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest? If so, visit Mrs. Roseman in the guidance office or visit www.jfklibrary.org for more information. The contest is open to any student in grades 9 through 12. The first-place winner will receive $5,000 and a $5,000 college savings plan. The deadline for the contest is Jan. 5, 2013.

It's hard to believe, but the first marking period of the school year is already coming to an end on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Congratulations to some outstanding CHS athletes.

Freshman Hannah Edwards and junior Rachel Sell were named to the second team on the 2012-13 Colonial League Field Hockey All-League Team.

Seniors Paige Kogelman and Megan Covert, received honorable mentions.

Senior Olivia Falko was named to the second team on the 2012-13 Colonial League Girls Soccer All-League Team for the second consecutive year.

Senior Natalie Leggett earned an honorable mention.

Sophomore Joe Harakal was awarded an honorable mention for the 2012-13 Colonial League Boys Soccer All-League Team.

The administration, faculty and staff of Lehigh Career and Technical Institute have selected the September 2012 Students of the Month. Award recipients are selected by the instructor of each respective lab in recognition of their achievement during the previous month.

Congratulations to CHS student Joseph Johnson for being selected as student of the month in the electrical technology lab.

This page is updated weekly with information relating to college visits, non-Catasauqua scholarship information, college fairs, test dates and other important news for students in grades 9 through 12.

Congratulations to the Catasauqua High School Marching Band who won the TOB Chapter Championship in their division at Whitehall High School on Saturday, Oct. 20.

In addition, they competed at Northampton High School in a U.S.S.B.A competition and placed second.

The marching band will travel to Harrisburg on Saturday to compete against other bands in the Atlantic Coast Championships. Best of luck!
