Students from Catasauqua High School will be visiting Sheckler Elementary School classrooms to read to students on Guest Reader Day tomorrow. This is a tradition every fall that Sheckler and CHS students have come to enjoy.

Sheckler Shack will be open for students to shop Oct. 23-26. One grade level will have the opportunity to make purchases each day – grade four on Oct. 23, grade three on Oct. 24, grade two on Oct. 25 and grade one on Oct. 26.

The annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest is approaching. Students are invited to submit a decorated or carved pumpkin or a combination of both. All entries must be submitted Oct. 22-24. Entries should be placed in Shecklers courtyard and must be labeled with the student's name and homeroom. Please make pumpkins weather resistant as they will be outside through Oct. 26 when they will need to be removed at the end of the school day. Judging will take place on Oct. 25. Ribbons and certificates will be awarded for the funniest, prettiest, scariest, most colorful, most unusual, animal theme and classroom theme.

Students will be marching in the annual Sheckler Halloween Parade Friday, Oct. 26, at 1:30 p.m. Please do not park in the schools driveway from 1 to 3 p.m. on this date.
Students will begin walking from the bus parking lot and proceed down the school driveway, then north on 14th Street, circling around Bridge Court, left on Bridge Street and south on 14th, concluding at the school. In addition to the parade, there will be classroom parties.
Parents are reminded that students will not be permitted to dress in costumes showing injury, blood or pain and will not be allowed to carry any kind of weapon or fake weapon in the parade.
